Battlefield 4 Status Bot for Discord

Project identity and purpose

BF4 Server Watcher is a Discord bot/service for Battlefield 4 communities.

Its responsibilities have grown from a simple single-server map watcher into a PostgreSQL-backed, multi-guild BF4 monitoring service that can:

• monitor BF4 servers;
• detect map changes;
• post and replace persistent Discord announcements;
• report current server state on demand;
• display optional persistent player rosters;
• expose player/team details;
• track player sessions/history;
• notify administrators when watched players appear;
• manage map-specific Discord notification roles;
• support multiple default servers per guild;
• deduplicate the same physical BF4 server across multiple Discord guilds;
• maintain a global aggregate Discord presence;
• persist operational configuration and message state in SQL;
• audit commands;
• survive restarts without losing persistent announcement/display state;
• progressively evolve toward a distributed multi-site worker architecture.

The project goal is reliable, conservative, operator-friendly BF4 monitoring, not maximum polling speed.
